All Stars (The Series)
Robert wrote 12 episodes of the 37-part dramaseries about seven soccer friends, based on the feature film. Hero, Bram, Johnny, Mark, Willem, Paul have played soccer together since they were seven. Peter joined a year later. They are now about twenty-five and their various activities make it harder and harder to play soccer every Sunday. In a comic way and against an all-Dutch background, All Stars is about pregnant girlfriends, cheating on your girl, homosexuality, career plans and escaping from your parents: in general it’s about the boys growing up and being forced to ask on the eve of their 500th match why they are actually friends. In the episode Alle Menschen werden Brüder, the Swift Boys prepare themselves for a match against a German team. This episode was awarded an Emmy Award and the Gold Rose of Montreux.
